I found this crab spider living in my lemon tree. He/She's currently living on one of the few white flowers left in bloom. I don't know where it'll go once this flower is gone.

Taken w/FZ-30 and Raynox DCR-150 and 250 macro lenses. RAW images edited in Picasa only. Need some slight NR.

#1 - Waiting to pounce. It stays in this stance waiting for food to walk or fly by.

Very nice. It looks like a tough subject with the white. You have done well. Terrific detail.

Great shots!

Thanks, rafinmelb!

It was a challenge getting the lighting right with all of that white. Luckily, this spider doesn't move much so I was able to take my time and play with the flash, exposure, etc.

I probably took over 100 pictures of him, and will probably try a few more.

#3 is great! As a user of a DCR 250 I know how difficult it can be to get the subject in focus with such a short DOF. You've done well to capture the subject and have it tack sharp.
