White Rose Yellow Flower

Took these two today, the rose indoors the other outdoors.
The rose should actually be white but turned out yellow so what did i do wrong?
I am using adobe photoshop 7 to PP, very old i know but...

The 2nd could come from any calendar or 'fine art' book ~ the 1st is not far behind either. What a great pair of images ... print them quick and put them on your lounge room wall. The photo results from photo-planning rather than 'grab' shots

you also comment on the colour of the rose, photo taken indoors
-if- the colour is very different from what you were expecting, it seems to me that the colour of the lighting was 'off' ... were you using a house-lamp to illuminate the rose? if so, was the WB White Balance in camera reset to 'incandescent / tungsten'?


ps- I'm serious about those prints for the loungeroom wall !!

My guess is the indoor environment (and the lighting) confused the white balance somewhat- quite common in compact camera's. Try the same shot with different settings- and see which looks the most natural.
And Photoshop 7 is a fine editor...

Wow, very many thanks, i am surprised and a bit stunned but the wonderful and encouraging comments from you all haven't gone to my head, instead they have taught me to take my time more.
The rose was taken indoors in daylight so no indoor light used and the camera was set to AWB.
Will try to photograph it outside tomorrow just to see if i can get it white.
I am greatly encouraged now and will try to improve as i try to remember all the advice i have been given here.

Very pretty shots eysha! As others already wrote, try using different WB settings if the color looks off. Sometimes you have to "trick" the camera

Your post has been well received, and rightly so, I wonder if your white rose was affected by a reflection from something, like the wallpaper? actually it's weird because without careful settings whites usually get blown out.

Thanks Grounded, it wasn't the wallpaper but i have been thinking that maybe the white isn't set properly. Isn't there something about setting colours somewhere? Something about white is seen as 18% grey if not set? I am lost on that so i have no idea how to adjust it.
