Nice colors indeed. What ISO setting are you at?
Which model are you using and, is this picture untouched or has it been run through a noise reduction software? If it hasn't, and you have a program, could you kindly run this exact picture through the noisre reducing software and post it here? The result could very definitely tilt me towards an FZ-30 if it cleans up with noise reduction. Either way, colors look good....ditto for detail. Thanks for sharing! --K |

The ISO setting was 100.
I did do a noise reduction on it (Noise Ninja filter) I also did some cropping...other than that...it's as is... Think I should have set the ISO to 80? Oh, yes...forgot...I used a FZ-20 thanks for the comments |

Thanks for the information....I have been doing a lot of research and looking at pictures.
Yours has actually drawn me to adecision (finally)...albeit a more expensive one. That Leica lens on the FZ-20 is simply awesome....it hasexcellent detail, color and sharpness. I personally will never be able to afford something so nice to put onto the camera I am getting ready to puchase....and that saddens me. Noise is a personal preference and, for me at least, I need less. Thank you for helping and for posting a nice picture. I too love winter berries. We have a Cardinal and a Mockingbird that take a particular liking to one in our yard. Good stuff tudacee....keep snapping! ![]() |

Nice foto, Tudacee. I like shots of plants and flowers in all seasons. I often visitRick Lee'ssite for his wonderful use of grocery store produce as subjects. Here is FZ5 foto from our garden in Latvia. I used P setting with full zoom about 2 meters distant.
ISO 80; 1/500; f4.5; -.33EV. No noise reduction, but cropped and sharpened a bit. Suggestions welcome! ![]() |

Thanks, tech challenged. I hope you'll be as happy with it as I am with mine. No camera can do everything well, but the FZ5 is a tool that works well for me. Learning to see is the most important thing...

What a sharp clear photo...and beautiful color too. I like the way you can see that insect on the sunflower's center...
I love colorful shots. |

Thanks tudacee. Keep posting. BTW, is your forum name a foreign word? Lasitajs means "reader" in Latvian... Since it's Winter here, this is an idea of what the weather is like this week. It's a black & white world right now...

Wow! That is such a fantastic photo...so powerful. I love it...
tudacee is a made up word...I love rhyming words...and it come from the old children's song: TO THE SEA, to the sea, to the wonderful sea.... Say the the first first part fast, and you come up with the phonetic spelling of it. and btw, you are the very first person who has ever asked me what it meant! LOL I will also post a picture... |
