WWII Artillery, DOVER

4 Attachment(s)
These are some of the large guns that protected the coast of
England against German invasion during WWII. As i mentioned in my other post from today, the weather was foggy and very wet so i decided to create a black and white image from one shot because i liked to backdrop and the heavy mist washed the sky out. Colour was already drained so i thought what the heck lol.

I had to morph out some horrid scaffold barrier on the first shot, but it didnt go badly. You may barely notice it (i hope) and the other one has a statue of Admiral Sir Bertram Ramsay, the man who spearheaded the evacuation of Dunkirk known as 'Operation Dynamo'. Initially after heavy fighting pushing allied troops back across France, only 45,000 men were expected to be evacuated. Ramsay accomplished the incredible and recovered over 300,000 men back to British shores.
Afterwards, he also played a major part in the planning of D-Day.

And, as they say... The Rest Is History!

I hope you like my little trip back in time, i enjoyed it immensely.
sadly there is no photography allowed by public in the WW2 tunnels, but i will post some pictures i have taken from the site, just so you can get a taste of my experience today and share in what i have seen.

Regards,
john
