The last six months haven't exactly been the best for my family and it became obvious to me sometime in October that I badly needed some kind of diversion to stop me dwelling on all things negative. So I began taking 'Pany' with me every day even if I was only going out for a bit of shopping. And I gradually came to realise that there are photo opportunities everywhere if you just start looking for them. I'm too old to ever become anything more than a snapshooter, but I want them to be good snaps that are worth showing to my friends and family.
So here are a few ofthe snaps I 've taken during these past three months and while I'm here I like to say a Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it and Happy Holidays to all. Kat, you're mistaken - these don't look like 'just snaps' and it surely isn't the camera that makes good pictures, it only helps.
Nice shots, only the 3rd one can get some help in pp to make it a bit straighter. Best wishes for the holidays - Ronny |
Kat, I agree with Ronnie, those are not just the average "snaps", they are very well done, and you should be proud of them. I for one sure do like them.
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you and yours. |
They are a LOT more than "snaps"! Really nice photos - I would give a lot to be able to do half as well! Happy holidays.

Kat, I agree with Ronny, those pics are much better than snapshot quality. We should be so lucky to have such beauty in our midst. Our family has not had a good year healthwise. And I must admit I have also had a pretty negative attitude about a lot of things lately. I bought an FZ7 for my son for Christmas and after reading your post I vow to go with him on a photo shoot at least once a month right here in our city. Thank you for sharing and I would like to take this time to wish you and yours a much happier, healthier, and prosperous new year. Merry Chistmas to all!

Wonderful, wonderful shots! I am partial to the FZ7. I know what you mean about having a rough spell, last year at this time I was facing a health concern and major surgery. Got through it all and this year was a blessing. Pray the same for you and yours...Donna

Very nice shots, the rose being my personal favorite. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
I just wanted to add, the old saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" is not true. Often with age one realises they don't "know it all" and becomes willing to learn. |
To Ronny - Yes, I know it looks a little off. On the day I tried three times to get a result that wasn't and it just wasn't happening. In the end I put it down to the weirdness that is Edinburgh's Calton Hill (lol). I suppose it could be edited to be better. I'll consult my 'image adjustment specialist' (my daughter, Shiona) when (or should that be if?) she gets up this morning!
Thank you everyone for your kind words and all the best for 2007. Slainte Mhath! Kat |
Well, your snap shots are great. I really love the web...

Merry Christmas Kat. We are lucky to have you join us. Your artistic eye makes your photos much more than just snapshots. They are all great but I like the web the best.
