Is the Z10 SILENT ?? (Bob)
Much of my interest lies in informal people shots indoors without flash - parties, meetings, anniversaries, even weddings. These people are aware they are being photographed, but when the camera goes "KLAK" repeatedly they have a tendency to "pose" for the camera - either 'oh goody my picture is being taken' or occasionally irritation.
Since the circumstances are conducive to lively expressions and movement, multiple shots (free in digital) are extremely useful.

So absolute silence of the camera (like the Canon Pro90 IS, Sony 717), etc is VERY useful.

Can the Z10 be completely silent in use?

Note - the Minolta A1 was a "contendah" but turns out to have real shutter which is rather noisy!

Thank you very much -

The sample I have has the ability to silence the "electronic" shutter sound, but it would be premature for me to state, with 100% certainty, thatthis feature will remain as is in the production model.

Before you even suggest it, I'm unable to request that any feature be kept or removed. We'll just have to wait and see what the final version will be - and I'll be sure to keep you updated.

Bob - thank you so much for your reply.

If it is silent when released, I will certainly buy it.

If not, my 10D will continue to do the job.

Here's hoping ! Thanks again.
