Hi Riley

Was just about to post the link - so the L1 does turn out to be the Digilux 3, I still prefer the look of the L1 as its a bit more discreet but the Digilux 3 still looks sweet.

Cheers

Just saw th eprice for the Digilux 3 on the Leica forum:

http://www.leica-camera-user.com/dig...l-cameras.html

The Digilux 3 is 2500 Euro's - a 2 year warranty, 1GB SD card and some of other goodies.

Cheers

Just noted on the Leica site that the Digilux 3 is the basic model in the D series so I'm assuming that means we will be seeing a higher spec'd L1 and Digilux 3 within the next year or so.

Cheers

"As the first Digilux camera with an interchangeable lens...".

i wonder if that means that there will never be another fixed lens digilux.

my one wish: that they would update the older D2 with a bigger sensor and a larger memory buffer for better RAW photo shooting. they can leave everything else as is.

i really doubt that a larger sensor would be on the cards for an updated D2/LC-1, as that would mean a new lens too. and i think theres enough development space in the 2/3 sensor to improve the noise issue.

they could look at a few other problems though,
the AF/Macro ident,
a decent raw buffer,
the silly 69mm filter size
a free LCD

Apparently, the price of red dots to stick over some other brand's logo is going up. Or else, that difference includes not just the red dot, but replacing black paint with chrome paint.

not so sure about that
the warrantee provisions are desirable, at 3 years
they tweak the cameras in house for nicer images
the resale value is without question better, many digilux 2's now sell on ebay for more than new. on the other hand, people dont seem to sell them much, but that is true of C7070's too, but i have no idea why
