For your information

I applied the L1 lens V1.1 upgrade but the firmware version displayed on the camera is not updated. I contacted Panasonic Japan for help. The English installation instruction is not correctly translated. If you applied the upgrade successfully ignore the camera body lens version v.1.0 display. The lens v1.1 is updated. However the lens version V1.1 will not be displayed with the camera body firmware v2.0.

So what does this update do?

Firmware Version 1.1
• Fixed LCD may indicate "PLEASE TURN CAMERA OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN" when leaving the DMC-L1 Power Switch ON.

It improves the continuous focusing operation. However, I don't notice any difference after the install.
