DonalDuc, your photos are nice and all, but I've stopped looking in this thread because every time, I have to load HEAPS of your photos!!!

Originally, this thread (and the G1 thread) was mainly about discussion of the cameras themselves.

I was wondering if you could start a new thread, called "GH1 photos" or similar? That way, we can leave discussion in this thread and photos in the other thread.

Lovely images! You certainly get the most out of your GH1. Which lens did you use on the Pear shots?

I think all Pana lenses are good, but I like also Oly lenses and Sigma lenses.

Zuiko lenses are excellent. Unfortunately, most of them won't work on the G1 except in manual mode. I've got a couple of Sigma lenses and one Tamron lens (for my Sony A200). The problem with those two brands is that they are very inconsistent. Some lenses are very good while others suck.

Donald: a friend of mine will stay some days in Switzerland in September. Do you think he can get a GH1 there? Thanks.

Sure :-)

Search for dealers in Switzerland - f.e. in Zurich - and call ....

http://www.panasonic.ch/de/Haendler/...ml?r=23&s=8000

PLZ = 1000 (Lausanne), 2000, ..., 8000 (Zurich), 9000 (St.Gallen)

GH1 in Switzerland available in black/red/gold (="champagne")

I lived for 10 years near Zurich ... nice girls there ... one of them I married

Got this site in Winterthur (8400), where my friend will be in the first two weeks of October:

Should I order the GH1 in anticipation?
