Default Panasonic to release two new Micro 4/3 cameras

Panasonic will announce two new Micro 4/3 cameras during March, the 4th and 5th in their range of Micro 4/3 cameras.

No clear details at this stage but they will be the Panasonic G2 (replacement for the G1), while the Panasonic G10 looks like being a "light" model with a similar target market to the Olympus E-PL1.

The news is that one of the two cameras has an important function that no other micro 4/3 camera has!!! I can't think at the moment what that might be!

Panasonic confirmed that the two new cameras will be displayed at the “CP+” show in Yokohama, Japan, March 11th to March 14th. I will see if I can get to that show!! The unveiling of the two cameras may happen just before the show, however.

Sounds like the G2 will get the added feature as it is most likely the new flag ship of panny's m4/3 line. Maybe weatherproofing.

At this stage, it sounds more likely to be a touch screen.

That could be also. But weatherproofing would be a really nice option over the touch screen, but it does add to the future of photography that the Lumix G are pushing. So I can see that happening, and trump the all the dslr out there as none have that feature.

They may follow the TZ7 footsteps and add GPS to their most compact new models (GF1 replacement). Or even better, add a built-in EVF!!!! That'd be cool!

don't think they will add a built in evf, as the feature will be something that no m4/3 camera has yet. GPS would be a fun feature. Also form the silhouette of the small camera, it seems like there would either be a very tiny evf if they did. Something the size of the canon G11's vf.

Any EVF is better than no EVF...at least for me.

There is a point that it is just to small. I looked at the G10 and G11. And to many, it is there just for show. Because it is way to small for be functional. But that market segment demands one. So they put one in.

I'm OK with it as long as it's not a tunnel. They are indeed useless.

Yup, I totally agree tone evf or vf are complete waste of space.
