If I had an E-PL1 and the external EVF, it would never come off the camera.

I take it off, as it makes it more compact to pack down to a smaller size for travel.

i would say that the EPL1 is probably the best bet for you right now. your pros outweigh your cons here. the body design is something you will get used and will become a non-issue and the EVF is expensive enough i am thinking you will not lose it lol.

but the for the awesome jpeg engine and inbody image stab is hard to beat.

Hi,

Actually, I've been open to looking at all the options when it comes to the interchangeable lens type cameras. Having said that, Dustin's comments relative to the viewfinder, in body image stabilization, as well as arguably the best JPEG engine currently available keeps drawing me back to Olympus' E-PL1.

I know that I've commented that ZD lenses aren't a major factor. But I've got the ZD12-60mm, 50-200mmED. Probably 2 of the finest lenses that Oly makes-from a price to performance perspective. Hard to ignore that these 2 lenses would work quite well with the E-PL1.

Hi Dustin,

I've spent a lot of time in the last couple of weeks reading all manner of reviews currently available on the EVIL style cameras. Every review I've read has some nitpicking here and there on every camera released to date. No one seems to dispute the fact that the E-PL1 has the best OOC Jpegs.

It does have the best OOC jpegs, I do not have to run allot of the photos from the epl-1 through aperture. They standout on their own.

With the EVF, I got a fashion sensible wife, so I actually pay more then most in the States for the EVF, and their is no way we are losing it. We are always checking on it. I have a silver color one to match the body and lens.

Changed to a G10 and have to say, what an awesome camera! Small too. Got a lot to learn now!
