These are called Cattle egrets here, can often be seen sitting on the back of a cow.

I'm glad you clarified that. There for a minute, I thouht you were raising them to eat. Just joking bayourebel. Nice picture but I would have tried to get closer and not have as much background on this one.

Thanks Don. I was quite a distance from them, and as I crossed the highway to get closer, they flew off further into the background you see in the photo. Also, one has to be careful trespassing.

Jim, I don't recall seeing that many either. That is what caught my attention driving down the highway. Turned around and came back, after I remembered I had the camera. Anyway, I parked on my side, and tried to get closer, but they kept moving further into the pasture.
