Took some misc shots yesterday while hiking in the Prescott Az area. All pictures were cropped and very little PP. Jim

Jim, these are some nice photos. One thing about the forum is that you find that there are many insects, birds, etc, that are pretty much universal , sometimes just a small variation.

Good job, I can see you are enjoying the 50.

Thanks Jerry, I've found that when I turn the Picture Adj NR and saturation to low and the Sharpness and contrast to std the picture quality improves! If I could turn off the NR I would. I haven't tried any RAW shots yet. Yes I am having fun with it and looks like I'm going to like it better than my FZ30. :-) Jim

Nice shots. It looks like the FZ50 handles the noise pretty well without messing with the fine details very much. I'd still like to see some Bluejays from your other post. All the worrying about it and dadgum' if Panasonic didn't know what they were doing after all. Isn't it amazing?

Don

Hi Don, I took the Blue Jay pictures while on vacation in Michigan a couple of weeks ago. So far I haven't seen many B J's here in Arizona but I have your request on my list ! :-) Jim

To me, the first one looks nice, but I think I can see some effect of the NR on the second picture (mostly the background), though it may be jpg compression too.

The third one just looks great to me. Good color, sharpness, etc. Looks like you're really starting to get a feel for it.

Overall, I don't think the 50 is going to disappoint.
