Found this interesting group of cattails with an unusual pattern in the water. Some PP to pop the color. Jim

I don't know why but it seems that cattails, fireflys, and several other species, besides trees that I remember as a child growing up are disappearing from our landscape. I think a lot of it is the aerial spraying done for the sugar cane fields and soybeans is the culprit. Back in the 40's and 50's the night sky was aglow with fireflys, it is a rare occasion to see one now. I also don' see many cattails, and other things I could mention.

We still have cattails and fireflies up my way, maybe not as many as before...but really enjoyed your picture...keep posting! Donna

Have to agree with you Jerry, this was the first cattails I've seen in a LONG time! Haven't seen a firefly for quite a while either.....maybe I have to go out at night ! :-)
