is there a fix on the way
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0609/06...8previewed.asp

with the release of Leica M8, a digital rangefinder [ ] reading this piece suggests that there is a technological fix.
The question here is, will Pana and Oly inherit the technolgy?
And what are the implications for the other Nikon and Canon competition?

Riley

Edit: these are my broad and way too soon sweeping assumptions
#1. that Leica would find at least some of the stuff about FZ50 unacceptable, and a fix will be sought.

http://www.dpreview.com/news/0609/06...leicavlux1.asp

#2. and that Pana are as usual watching public opinion
#3. being that Pana are not in the habit of issueing firmware changes, they will use the Leica solution and fix FZ50 in house. The current FZ50 will be allowed to sell out cheap, and the 'updated' model will appear with few if any other changes.

#4. Down the track, more solutions will appear for the known small sensor noise issues

Hi Riley

I'd love to have that Leica D lens for my E1 - it may mean having to buy the DMCL1 if I wanted to get one now or wait until the Leica D is available seperately. Pricewise I can see the lens costing approx $1000 on its own - if its £500 I'd be more than happy.

Cheers
