Hello Jim,

Thank you for your lovely sent link, I read it completly, & among us I'm now a little bit "Un-Happy"...as the newer FZ-50 have many features that really I like it, as manual zoom & back Swing LCD.(Don't really need such higher mb 5 or less is 100% OK!)

But I will wait more advices/informations from more Panasonic owners fans.

BTW...here a sample that I shoot with my lovely FZ-20 recently.

Among us...my prime degital camera is a KM Dynax/Maxxum 7D DSLR one with 6 already owned Minolta & others lenses. So the FZ-20 only when I travel, for NO lenses changes!

Peace,

Alex :|007

Hello Jim,

I read your sent link...& now I'm a little bit "Un-Happy"...as really I like or need the FZ-50 new features, as better handling, manual zoom, swing rear LCD. I will loose the same wide open 2.8 at ALL the zoom range. But i want to read from more Panasonic fans, before I will made my final decision.

BTW...Jim look my attached photo a very recently photo that I shoot with the FZ-20

My prime digital camera es a KM Maxxum/Dynax 7D a DSLR, as I own also a film body Maxxum 9xi with 7 lenses.

My FZ- 20 only in use 99% mainly when I travel...for avoid lenses changes:idea:

Peace,

Hi Alex, That is a very neat picture you obtained with your FZ20. I owned that and found it to be an excellent camera, before I upgraded to the FZ30, which is another excellent camera! I wish I could say the same about the FZ50 as I also wanted the new features! I see that Leica is coming out with their version of the FZ50 and it's reported to have better controls of the venus III engine which hopefully will take care of the problems I found in the FZ50. The only drawback is that it's about $150 more, (US). Jim

Hi Jim,

Yes it's true...also instead Panasonic "label" you get the "Red Circle' Leica sticker...which makes you fell as you use a "Rolex"!

Away from my "joke"...tell me please, if when you use with your FZ-30 in "Manual" a flash before the shutter is trigger...on my FZ-20 the EVF is "DARK"...can't see trough it 90% nothing. I don't plan to acquired a dedicated Panasonic flash ever as I already own 3 "Auto" type "Standard" hot shoe...so in 80 ISO (Which mostly I use to avoid Grain/Noise), 2.8 is the "Auto" settings all my 3 Non dedicated flashes had GN-36m. TODAY I can obtain here in Israel with all the taxes & v.a.t a brand new FZ-30 for $:430.00 or order a FZ-50 wait two weeks till arrive for $:110.00 more. Sorry here Panasonic is NOT so Populary...so almost I can't check it if such two models DON'T have this umpleasent issue of EVF/LCD darkness as my FZ-20 had

I really hope my dear Jim that you will comprehend my poor English:P

Thank you for your kind response,

Peace,

Alex 007:|

Jim I add another FZ-20 photo for your enjoyment!

Hi Alex 007,

Its one of the most beautiful leaves shot I ever ever seen. Its not the camera but its the man behind it. That has been always my philosophy.
