These were taking growing up the sugarcane stalks in a field across from my home. It was a little windy and these where hand held.

This one, the right flower was more out of focus as I was also trying to get a good shot of the stinkbug on one of the buds.

Agree with Donna, that red is really striking.

Growing in sugarcane fields, is it an noxious weed?

Fred, all I know is it grows wild in the cane. I don't know the name of it or if is harmful. It must not be, as it has been around for years.

Thanks Roger and all, I will try to get a few more photos of this flower before the cane is harvested. I apologize that I have not been able to follow up with more, but there has been more pressing issues. DIF
