My local community fair took place this past weekend, terrible timing since it rained so much late last week and the location was just a big mud puddle. However, they did have a nice fireworks display on Saturday night. The field where it took place was literally 2 blocks from my house, so I just set up my tripod on my front doorstep...how convenient!! You can see the tall pine in my neighbors backyard in the frame, but overall a decent vantage point for me! All of these were taken in manual mode, f5.6, 2s exposures. Notice during the finale, I probably should should have just gone to continous mode with 1/3 or 1/2 s shutter as all those explosives really blew out the exposure at 2 seconds! These were the best of the 30 or so I took. Enjoy!

Very nice series, feel like I was there on your doorstep. BTW, I think the tree adds perspective to the photos.

Very nice. I haven't had much luck with fireworks so far, so I really appreciate yours. I like the pine tree in the background too. Donna

Looks like these were made for the fireworks manufacturer! Excellent shots. I am waiting for Diwali, the season of fireworks displayhere in India, around end October, but I am not sure I will be able to match your photos.
