Is the write speed on the FZ50 high enough to warrant purchasing a Sandisk Extreme III (20 MB/sec) card or is the Ultra II (9MB/sec) fast enough? I currently have a Standard card (2MB/sec) and it is obvious I could use a faster card. By the way, I'm not attached to Sandisk, just using that brand as an example of relative speeds. TIA for any advice.

I contacted Panasonic just before buying my FZ50 last week. They confirmed that the write speed of the camera is 20MB/sec. So I bought the Sandisk Extreme III you refer to.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

I doubt the camera can write as fast as they say but any of these cards will work fine.

If it could write as fast as they claim it would not take so long to write a raw file.
