Can anyone recommend a good telephoto lens/teleconverter for the FZ50 for those occasions when you just need to zoom in that little bit more, as the 'official' one seems a bit pricey!

Thanks in advance, any recommendations much appreciated.

I might be wrong here, but I thought the FZ50 has the same thread as the FZ30.

*IF* so, then there is a 1.7 x conversion lens at

Well, I don't know if this is the "Offical too pricey" you mentioned, but keep in mind that cheap lenses can cause unsatisfactory results.

Other ppl here know more than I do, so let's hear what they have to say...

Olympic makes a similar converter "1.7x also" that is a bit les pricy and quality wise the equivelant of the Pana model from the tests I have seen. There is a post from awhile back (6 months perhaps) that had a link to the test of 4 diferent models. You might be able to do a search for it. I find the Oly TCON-17 to be an acceptable unit as do many FZ-30 owners.
Hope this is of some help.

Thank you one-and-all - that's a great help! The Olympus looks favourable, I must admit.
