Hi all,

I really liked the meteoric improvements in FZ30 from FZ20.

I am curious...do you feel FZ50 is a significant improvement over FZ30?

If so, please give me some good reasons .

For me, the most significant limitations in FZ30 are:

1. Low light inability to focus.

2. Lotsa noise with low light pics.

Thanks in advance for your replies

Also, on miscellaneous note: My 2 Lenmar batts that I bought aftermarket seem to be losing their juice more easily now. They are about six months old.

Btw, I have Oly Wcon-08 and B-300 which work fabulously with FZ30 with virtually no vignetting (at full wide/tele respectively).

Also, I have DPS-9000 which also works very well with FZ30 but you must remember to remove your Pana battery when using it. For some reason, use of DPS-9000 drains the Pana batteryl.

What? Nobody on the Pana forum who owns or owned both an FZ30 and an FZ50?

Geez...lol...maybe Steve is the only one!

I was curious about the answer too...

All I can suggest you is to check dpreview.com, there you can make a "side-by-side" comparison between both cameras, or check the individual reviews, they go deeper in subjects such as image quality, noise reduction, RAW mode and such, with sample pics comparing the Lumixes to other brand and models of cameras.

Good luck.

I owned the FZ30 for about 4 months before it was stolen. I waited and recently purchased the FZ50. Having used both I would not have sold my FZ30 and purchased the FZ50, the differences are just not worth it to me. But, I would not get rid of the FZ50 and return the FZ30 as I have seen some people advocating.

Thank you all for your responses .

I guess for now I will keep the FZ30. Short on cash is a good motivator also!

Have a great weekend out there!
