Great continuation of your series Lovelife and also noted that no one is smiling. Can't blame the chap in #2, with those magazines he must be delving into his memory banks

Fred
Thank you for looking and commenting I added some pleasant pictures to the thread but I have noticed that I do tend to pick up on the somber things in life. Maybe people don't smile unless they know they are being looked at or in this case photographed. I feel the only reason these pictures work is because they don't know.

Simply love your everyday shots of a city that has so much history and diversity.

Just about every walk of life lives there and I hope to someday visit and see it firsthand.

Your shots do strike a chord in me and I appreciate your reaching out and touchingme/us through your images. They do convey alot about what you are trying to say.

I may be wrong, but I had the impression that DOF was greater at smaller apertures, however the number of the F-stop is larger. Thus, 2.8 is a larger aperture, less DOF, than 4.6, smaller aperture, more DOF. The smaller the aperture, requires longer shutter speed, to make up for light requirement in the exposure.

Please correct me if I have all this backwards.
You are correct. Photographic terms have always been lacking. Which is smaller F2.8 or F4.6? Aperture vs. Iris. ND neutral density filter vs. LRlight reduction. Polarizer vs. AG anti glare. DOF vs. FR focus range. Fast lens must be cool picking up women.

And here is a MEGO (my eyes glazes over) web page that really clarifies the issue http://www.uscoles.com/fstop.htm

Hello Annie,

Thank you very much for looking and commenting and for taking the extra time to view my gallery.

I am off to Thailand in January for two weeks I hope to stay away from the usual postcard shots and bring back some winners.
