Somemore nice shots Jim. Looks like one of the jets on the C-130 didn't fire on that take off. Wonder if that happens a lot?

Thanks Don, Your right about the jet pod but in the next frame that I took it had fired up! Probably is common for them to misfire sometimes!? Jim

if you look at the JATO bottles, you can see the flame just starting on the one that's "retarded"... sometimes they don't all fire at once, like they should...

i've seen "Fat Albert" do the jet-assisted takeoff thing... it's pretty impressive. a C-130 can usually get airborne pretty quickly, for such a large aircraft, but with the JATO bottles, it absolutely "leaps" off the runway! good shot to catch it at full thrust!

Thanks Jerry, I know what you mean about "almost forgetting to take the shot" ! Caught myself doing that while watching the Angels perform! Jim

Thanks Squirl. It is amazing to see that big of an aircraft being lifted into the air by such small jet "bottles"! Jim
