Great photos, but IMHO it doesn't matter how much zoom you have you were to close to that thing. 200 yards IMHO is to close.

Once again thanks everyone for looking and the nice comments. And Roger I was about 18" away when I took the photo but they are not aggressive at all. When I was young I stepped on one barefooted and that is the only time I have been stung by a bumble bee.

Ted, It looks like some we have here, only they wear big yellow shoulder pads and are very agressive when aroused. You do not want to disturba nest. I was stung 13 times once before I could get inside. Swoll up like a toad.:G I can laugh about it now. They came out the ground and were all over me in a matter of seconds. Looked like a black cloud.

Great shots! The "hair" does look cuddly in a way, but wouldn't want to try it.
