That was a nice gallery Jerry.Looked at all 44 with great interest. Some engines!

I can imagine the pride that goes into keeping the craft in the condition shown

Thanks Rocky. I believe they would stand on the front end when picking moss from the trees, also running trout lines. Many of the fisherman also had many hoop nets that they would load on the front platform. These hoop nets were dropped into the currents of a bayou. Raising the nets from the side of the boat would allow them to lay the net like an accordion on the bow of the boat. They also ran crayfish (crawfish to us) from these type boats. They later moved to much larger and wider skiffs powered to large outboards. With the engine on the transom, they had more room in the boat.
