Thanks all, hey the camera is great for getting close to people thats for sure. I do still feel a little odd at times pointing it at people, but I guess I am ok sometimes. I tried on the Bus today, but chickened out and got only a few blury images:? I still feel if people see me they may feel odd towards me.
Nice postings and your captions add to the feel of the images in their own right. For non-discrete imaging, try using the FZ30's swivel LCD to compose/aim the digi at an off angle so it appears as though you're checking something on the camera back.

Say turn sideways to the subject(s) and use the swivel LCD to orient the lens toyour left or right side at waist high. This along with the silent non-extending zoom and silent shutter goes a long ways to capturing unknowing subjects in candid poses...

Yup thats what I do sometimes, its great having a LCD like this, in fact I get so many shots I would never have the guts to try. I cannot imagine using the viewfinder, in fact I have never used it, have looked thru it a few times, but really I like the LCD for so many reasons.
