i was sorting through some older photos and came across this shot of a yellow marsh iris that i took last year. it's considered an invasive species here, and is generally regarded as a weed in most marshy areas, as it tends to take over. but this one was so pretty, i just couldn't resist the photo...

Very beautiful, Squirl. We consider it weed, but nature must have some reason for making it so lovely.

Hard to imagine something that pretty could be considered a weed.

I think it is pretty. We have it planted in a small backyard flower bed, and as you say it does spread. I have to keep it cut back. We call it swamp Iris, same thing.

Nice one Rocky but it does make one wonder what is the difference between a weed and an accepted garden plant. I know that in Australia some plants are banned in one State but fully accepted in others. Also some plants which are cultivated are spread by birds to the bush and become weeds. Anyhow I would like a collection of that Swamp Iris in my backyard

The way you shot this "weed" make it looks as lovely as an orchid.Youmade it seem important with the way you set it up. Very nice portrait of iris.

Very nice indeed. I was just out on my lunch hour, still on it actually, taking photos of the City of Toronto and no pretty flowers like that about!!!!

Beautiful shot Rocky. I've heard it said that a weed is just a flower in the wrong place.
