Stalking Wildlife - Minus 10 degrees at 8,000 feet

Pentax K10D with my walk around lens Tamrom 24 - 135

What better way to try out new equipment than in extreme conditions.

It was around zero degrees when I turned on the road to the lake. I could see the valley where the lake is was covered with fog so I decided to try a ranch on the way to the lake for something to get a photo of before I went down to the lake and the fog.

High country Highlander. Cold doesn't seem to bother him at 8,000 feet and zero degrees.

Look I found a Raven Tree

At the last ridge with sunshine. Minus 4 degrees and sunshine

Minus 10 degrees and freezing fog. I wasn't sure the camera would even work in this kind of weather

Gosh, wonderful first shots. Don't think this cajun could get used to that kind of cold. You talk about the camera working, I would be frozen. :G But those photos look mighty good for first ones. Hope you keep showing us some.
