K10D W/Bigma how big (photo)

I have been asked a couple of times and had some E-mails asking about how big this set up turns out to be.

This is it at 50mm

Are you using something mounted on the flash attachment?

Nice setup, Roger. Amazed that you can hold this without a tripod. You might have made a great surgeon.:-)

Thanks to digital cameras you don't have to carry all that heavy film in your camera bag!

What is that in your hot shoe?

Evening Jerry.

Before I try it using a monopod and a tripod I wanted to test it without using either one. I hold the tripod mount on the bottom of the lens and put my elbow & arm tight against my chest so it really doesn't feel as heavy as it looks. I do think when I get to the tripod & monopod test it will do better.

Roger, that's quite a set-up! having the Sigma 80-400 myself, i know what your 50-500 rig weighs! one question... why the red-dot sight? with a DSLR, the viewfinder should be more than accurate enough, and since there's no noticeable "black-out" while the camera writes to memory, you really don't need the red-dot, and using it means you're not able to see any of the information in the viewfinder...
