Thanks, Donna, Roger, and Ted. The cowbirds come in flocks, and rake the feed on the ground. However, I don't complain because many of the birds, doves especially do not get on the feeders. The doves, many cardinals and finches will feed off the ground, including the cowbirds. I have 20 feeders hanging around the place and sometimes put out on average 25 to 40 pounds of feed a week during these first months of the year. But, I really enjoy having the birds, and once in a while we do get to see some that don't normally come our way.
