I was just hashing out an email to a friend whose husband is thinking of investing in a digital camera. Well, of course I am so pleased with the Panasonic Lumix I was encouraging her to tell him about the FZ30. I own an FZ5 and have quite enjoyed it and almost bought the FZ30 (when there were more around) but I opted to spend $100 less at that time.

I just did a search and was stunned to not see as many listed as there were back in July 2006 when I was making a decision on my camera. Does this mean the price is going to go up? I see some listed near $800 though a couple were listed in the $400 range. Does this mean this camera is going to go up in price? Are there not many new ones around?

I do not think they are being produced any longer since the FZ-50 was introduced. The price will set at whatever someone is willing to pay. I have owned both the 30 and 50 and I would not pay a premium over the 50 to get the 30.

Hi there! Thanks. I think that makes good sense.
