I need to decide which one I should keep.

Most of my photograghy is at full telephoto(or close to)

with set f2.8 for fz20or f3.3 for fz5in generally bright sunny

contrasty conditions at wildlife and coastal parks

shootingfauna, birds, scenery,etc.

I've had the fz20 for some time now and recently acquired the

fz5 after reading a very favourable review.

The fz20 seems to be producing higher quality images with less

noise but admittedly I have'nt played around with the fz5's settings

all that much.

Does theED element in the lense and f2.8 at full zoom really give the

fz20 the edge over the fz5 in image quality in these shooting conditions?

Given the type of photograghy I do (and the shooting conditions)which

camerado you peope thinkis most suitableand will give the best results?

Thanks in advance.

BTW. I'm looking to acquire an fz30 some time in the future, I believe this

might be the ideal camera for me.

I started my Lumix career with an FZ20 but have recently added an FZ5 because of its smaller size and weight. I take all kinds of photos with both of them, also a lot with maximum zoom and even with a tele mounted. There is hardly any distinguishable difference in image quality between the two. You must have noticed the same (otherwise you wouldn't ask an opinion from the forum), so why don't you just ask yourself which criteria are the most important for you: weight/size or 2.8/external flash and decide accordingly?

Thanks for your input yogibear:-)

Although the review I read states there's verylittle difference between the 2

in terms of image quality I find the fz20 consistently producingsharper less

noisy images in those extreme shooting conditions.

I do however love the portability of the fz5but if only it could match the fz20's

results, maybe I need to tinker with it's settings a bit more....

Any suggestions ?:?

Follow your instincts or do you need a sledge hammer the Fz10 and 20 are superior to all other FZ cameras.

Have you had any experience with an fz5 lovelife?:?

Basically ifan fz5 can match an fz20 for image quality

then I'll be keeping the fz5 for surebecause it has 2

important advantages:

1. Very quick autofocus(almost dslr like)

2. Portability.

But if it can't match the fz20 for image quality I'll have

to think twice....

Do not use autofocus tested 5 30 and 50.

Sharp pictures with good color resolution; nothing else matters.
