I was wondering whether anyone can answer my question. I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ5 camera and have seen that you can purchase Add on Telephoto Lenses to fit it. Do the lenses fit straight on or do i need an adapter to make it fit. I am fairly new to digital photography so i would appreciate any help or advice on which one to buy or whether they would fit at all.

Thanks

Hi Routy

The best person to answer your question is Fred aka fmoore - he's been shooting possibly some of the best shots with the FZ5 that you'll see and has both WA and tele adapters for the FZ5.

Cheers

The fz5 comes with a plastic lens hood adapter tube that also accepts 55mm threaded add-on lenses. It's good idea tokeep that adapter on at all times with a 55mm uv filter attached for lens and extension housing protection. The uv filter will also provide metal 55mm threads for better on/off accessory lens wear vs the plastic adapter threads. Nevertheless, the stock adapter leaves quite a bit to be desired for heavier accessory lens such as tele converterslike the popular olympus tcon17 1.7x. See http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=16476053

There is no third party adapter made for the fz5. The bayonet style fitting to the camera made that economically unfeasible.
