mixed bag, but overall scored pretty well, if you're in the market for one...

Sorry to say it, but the venus III engine hasn't been improved,

so all the remarks about the fz30 upgrade to the fz50 are also valid here.

(I mean all the remarks, at low iso's this is a greaaaat camera)

Just three things, that's all I want.

Give me this on my FZ7 and I'm gleeful:
  1. The EVF [/*]
  2. The LCD [/*]
  3. RAW[/*]
I just don't like the VIII for an FZ series camera. I think it's fine for the FX and TZ lines because they would be second cameras for me,not my primary.

I think the venus 3 is getting a bad rap and does a fine job.. This picture is ISO 400 withthe Venus 3set at low, and taken in aa dark room. At low setting I think it does a fine job and noise seems pretty good to me. Am I missing something?

in good light its fine Serafin
outside of that the venus III has proven a retrograde step
i do wish they would listen to what photogrpahers have to say

Thanks guys my wife appreciates the nice comments.

But according to onepopular place to readreviews anything above 200 ISOin dark or good light is supposed to give water coloring look I think is what he wrote. And in the dark backgrounds in the pic I think the noise levels are pretty good. Im not saying its perfect I just thinktheVENUS 3 doesnt deserve the bad rap its getting and does a better job than most in its class ofcamera.
