try to get a ticket (reservation only) to go to the top of "the rock" (rockefeller center) for a great view if it is not over cast. Dress warm because when you are up that high there is nothing to break the wind other than you.

Check the web site for museum of natural history, they may still have the butterfly world exhibit.
