In another thread here http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=23
Bill2468 advised setting up a branch and baiting it with peanut butter to get the birds to stay where you want.

I gave this a shot. I found a small branch with a good horizontal twig and snapped it off the tree. I jammed it in a good place to set up a shot and put a few blobs of PB in strategic places. First try I got this mocking bird. He hung around for quite a while pecking and smearing the PB around.

I think the trick worked out quite good. Nothing against mocking birds, but I hope to get some more interesting subjects soon.

Thanks BiLL!

A neat idea that worked extremely well. We don't have mocking birds here, but I sometimes feel that every robin I've tried to get a decent shot of this winter has been mocking me!

A nice shot. I will have to try it and see if the birds beat the squirrels to it.

Very nice MICK. I think I will just put a few small jars out around the feeders and see what happens. Ought to be interesting.
