Wanted to check out how the auto white balance handled snow (the first we've had here this winter). Seems to me it did a pretty good job.
Taken through a window - too much of a whimp to go out in minus 14 C !

White balance appeared spot on for that snow. I have taken a number of snow shots with the dial set to sun position and that works well also.

Snow shots are not something I get to shoot, looks nice in your shots though.

The White Balance came out very good. Iused the "snow" setting in my FZ30, it works very well, see attached. Sunny,minus 24 C!!!

Minus 24 would be almost enough chase me off to the sunny south !!!
Really liked your photo ... but the ducks must be nuts not to fly south like the snowbirds!

WB looks fairly decent. Of course if you shoot RAW you can always adjust later. Probably worth considering in oddball conitions......by the way if you head too far south the problems go the other way.....just had a couple of days over 100F and I am desperate for a cool change so I can sleep, have not bothered taking any photos unless the opportunity is directly under the airconditioner.
