here's one before the new telephoto, which should come tomorrow. Just wanted to show how much zoom i get from it (obviously 1.7x but you know what i mean, you only really can picture it if you see it)

hopefully there's less of a shadow by tomorrow!

Hope you are feeling better. And I hope you get a chance to take a shot without rain and such. But since you are not that many hundred miles away from me, I doubt you will see sky soon. (Dang it) This moon is very nice though.

thanks for caring Im back up and running, and the sky was crystal clear tonight. After sanding down the end of my lens adapter a little bit so i could get the uv filter screwed in a bit deeper to support the tcon17 (bigger than i imagined) i went out and grabbed a few shots. Now i obviously had to resize them, but you can tell this new one is closer up by the more sharpness of it. Thanks for looking! *it almost looks like the moon has a little acne on it's chin with all those craters :-)

okay, here's a good comparison shot. I think jthe smaller one, i had a longer exposure, and possibly a diff aperature, but this is just for zooms sake, so here it is (both were on tripod at same distance):

without TCON-17 at 12x optical:

With TCON-17 at 12x optical:
