On my recent trip to the game park I was approaching the Cheetah enclosure , which is a double, electrically operated , gate . To my suprise I saw that there were 3 cheetahs between the 2 gates , so therefore I couldn't open the first gate as they would of dissapeared into the normal enclosure

as you can see it isn't tha greatest pic , but as they say " a picture is worth a thousand words "

here is a closer pic of her as she got right up to the fence about a metre from the hood of my car (ps. in my defence the pics were taken through the windscreen)

They sure are a beautiful animal. Love to see films of them running. In the last shot it looks just like a big kitty cat.

they do look like cats , and there mannerisms are just like cats , when I approached the enclosure I could actually here them purring like cats .

Nice photos ... particularly like the second one. Most gameparks don't like you to open the car windows, so you are pretty much obliged to shoot through glass. Doesn't seem to make that much difference ... and at least you get the shot.
Which game park? Is there one near Port Elizabeth?
My favourite used to be the Wankie Game Preserve in what is now Zimbabwe. But that was a lifetime ago .. I wonder if it still exists.

Windrowe , annie thanks for the compliments , the reserve is called the Kragga Kamma game reserve check out www.kraggakamma.com .its pretty cheap ,if you go in your own car , it costs about $5.00 per person.
