I thought these icicles quite intriguing and I was looking at them yesterday on my porch and kept thinking I need to take a photo. Yesterday they did not quite look like they did today as they must have broken away from a web of sorts to have the kind of design they have. Hard to explain! It was also a challenge getting the shot with such a bright background so did a little tweaking in PS. Hope you enjoy.

Very interesting Beth, I was wondering how they got that shape. Well done with that background.

:G I think you are thinking they are quite large as some definitely can be. These are rather dainty icicles. )

These are wonderful! Really beautiful. I have just returned from a trip to Finland and I expected to be able to photograph the giant iciles they have there (I saw some from the car wondow on road sides that were several meters tall on rock!) but the temprature was more than I could take and I stayed inside with the only photos I took being of some branches of trees from a balcony!
I was so looking forward to seeing all the snow and ice but just was not prepared for the extreme -23 Celsius cold.
Well done for braving the cold to take your lovely icicle photos!
I will post my snow on trees ones in a minute...

I see now how (after viewing your shots) I should have just dressed up as an eskimo and braved the cold!
