Hi! everyone,

Here are the pictures I took by FZ30 today in Baton Rouge on a state highway.

Got lucky, nice weather, the pictures are ok but not 10 % as good as great ones posted by other forum members. This are my first big bird pictures, so I am thrilled.

I need help with cropping and some PP so that it preserves the quality (I want to print it 8*10) and also any suggestions in composition.I have photoshop 7.

same bird

I downloaded one of your pictures and looked at EXIF data. Photobucket resizes to 800 by 600, which will cut into cropping big time if I were to do it. If you want to hand off a full size picture to someone to play with I think Webshots allows even free members to upload full size pictures.

These are not bad for first big bird pictures, by the way. I will play with the one I downloaded a little, but don't know how much it will change it.

I take back that size comment. You can upload to 1024 by 768 with a free account in Photobucket. You have to change a setting. If you do that you might get a better print, although the larger the better to preserve detail.

Anyway, three versions.

Elements quick fix to brighten up.

Above plus Neat Image

And a bit of cropping. I always start with small amount removal and work up. There is some detail loss here that I would hope would not occur with a crop from a larger size.

I sent you a PM with an email address. I will be glad to play with originals although I am sure others here may well have more practice at it then I do.
