Went to register my youngest daughter into high school. Yup the time flew by rather quickly. Her new school is splendidly located on a hill overlooking Lake Ontario. So i drove down the pathway and snapped a few pix. It was very cold so i only got a few before the fingertips froze and i couldnt feel the button. The 1st one is really strange coz i have never seen ducks gather at the icy waters edge where the part of the water is frozen and the other part is not.

This one is of a duck in the water. It is actually standing in the water, so if you look closely the upper part of its feet are in water while his webbed part is actually on a layer of ice.
Freaky !But the funnier part is i accidently got the reflection of another ducks BUTT in there.

Most of them were hudled close so this was the only one i found alone and before i could get close enough and focus he took off.

The scrunched neck really helps convey the impression that this duck is COLD!

Nice shot.

Nice pictures deterpawson, they sure look cold! I feel cold just looking at them sitting/standing on ice and frozen water.
