welcome to the forum Mark , I like all your pics especially the bird . My only critique would be on the portrait , I think if you increased sharpness and increased shadows it would look better (IMO) , But then again it could be me laptop's monitor

Thanks Robass, I have to admit I`ve been looking around this forum for a while before joining, and the info i`ve picked up has improved my pics no end.
Yeah, the portrait lost a bit of sharpness after downsizing it, it looks a lot better full size on my comp.....I had a play around with the brightness/contrast , added a touch of sharpening, and came up with this.....I quite like both......

Welcome to the forum Mark. All nice shots but the last one of the bird is excellent.

mark , I really like the second portrait , it just looks so much sharper . But then again it depends on the look you are wanting .

Welcome. Like the second portrait, though I think a bit of softness in a portrait can be quite good. The brid shot is excellent technically.

Thanks for the comments and the warm welcome, both are greatly appreciated.

Robass, re the portrait, I did like the "soft" feel to the original shot, but I also like the sharper, more detailed 2nd shot after your suggestion, so thanks again!!
