thanks again for looking and the comments. My avatar was done with an infrared filter on my FZ30 and that was why I had wanted to take both cameras to do some comparisons. But the coolpix is very IR sensitive but I think it would have a greater effect in the summer when the trees are in bloom and I am in a better mood too!!!

There is always something special about how the pictures look with IR, I love it. I think I will give IR a try this year. Would you be kind enough to tell me what filter you are using and a brief intro into taking IR photos?

Thanks, Al

Thanks for the comments. I have a Hoya Infrared Filter R72 filter that I use on my Panasonic FZ30 and Nikon Coolpix camera. If you send me a Private Message with your email address, I have information I gathered for asmall presentation that I gave to a camera club I am a member of and I also list a number of websites that have great information. Let me know.
