I hope you ve received the book Close up in Nature by J. Shaw.
Incredibly it was written in 1987... but great photos and all valid chapters (maybe except for the one on films).
In the meantime he's passed to the digital (Nikon) as you can see from his personal website.
I have also found two more books by him (Nature Photogr. , and Landscape) both more recent and valid, but IMO the one on macro is the best one...
Who knows whether he'd decide to write a new one about macros with digital cameras...

This book is fantastic, Francesco! I could see that I have done some of my "homeworks" without even knowing this book. ;-)

The chapter about films is not obsolete, I will use my old Nikon FM2 SLR again in the near future.....

How about starting anew project: We could write a little wiki about "digital Closeupsin Nature". I have found a server supporting CGI, mySQL, perl ... for free.
