The only shot that required the mirror was the last, zoomed-in one. At 1x wa I could get close enough (within 3-4") to simply eyeball the direction of the lens without recourse to the lcd, take the shot and quickly review and reshoot if necessary. Being that close pretty much assured good focus. However, using full 3.6x zoom meant moving further away (12-15") which greatly reduced the chances of getting the subject in the frame and in focus by simply pointing the camera in the direction of the subject. Very little movement left/right, up/down would throw it off. Thus the need for the lcd and the mirror.

Beutiful flower shots, and a clever idea with the mirror.

I like the ground level view af all of them, but the last one is best with the blurred background and trees cropped out. Good down to earth shootin'

I like the first one with the church as a backdrop. I personally don't mind the trees that much as they are part of the nature scene.

Thanks for the comments. The blurred background and tighter view on the last one result from using full zoom, although it was cropped a bit.
