Default New FZ1 Owner... I'm in love!

My camera arrived when I was home for lunch this afternoon... I put the battery on to charge while I went back to work. Got home from work and started shooting!

These are my very first shots, everything automatic, no adjustments except to resize:

Outside my front door

Across the street (I was standing in shade so the house is a bit washed out)

Full optical zoom looking across the street

Outside my front door looking up

And for those wondering about indoor macros

The main problem I had with the macro was lighting - I kept getting the camera's shadow in the pic. I need to play around with lighting setups.

I'm going to LOVE this camera!

Some other general impressions of the camera:

I was stunned at how small and light it is - less than a pound with the battery, lens cap and strap.

The shape is very comfortable to hold and control. I don't think I had any problem with "shake".

The menus are fairly easy to work with, I didn't have much trouble navigating through them.

The zoom really is "whisper quiet"!

The door for the battery/memory card compartment is very sturdy and locks firmly. The battery and the card are inserted and removed easily.

More fun with my FZ1!!

I don't have a polarizing filter yet so some of the skies are washed out

It's one of my favourite toys, too.
