Can anyone identify this bird among-st the ducks? I have no clue as to what it is.

Taken with FZ20 + Tcon14b at sunset.

Looks like a Cormorant species Hiroshi.Nice shot too.

This looks like your bird here, latin name Phalacrocorax auritus aka Double Crested Cormorant......

Thanks Mark, I think you are right, but what throws me is the white feathers on his head. Here isa closer shot of it.

I`d say its very likely the same bird as the link I posted......the crests probably vary, as in a lot of species, yours having a more pronounced crest than the bird in the link. Very similar striped bill markings too.

Not sure why you can`t access the link Hiroshi, works ok for me. Type the latin name into Google and you should get a few pics similar to your bird.....
