Seems to be several postings for zoo trips recently so I thought I would add mine. I took my girls to the Dallas Zoo a couple of weekends ago. Here are some of mypictures. The first few are of my favorite subject from the day, a Harpy Eagle. He seemed toenjoy posing for the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them. He's a big guy with about a 7 foot wingspan!

Here's a couple of pictures ofa tiger. They were hard to take because I was standing about 5 feet behind a large bamboo fence enclosure with about 3" of space between the stalks. The zoom really came in handy for these!

A giraffe....

A frisky rhino...

A lizard from the reptile house.

Here's a mandrill.

And a bunch of birds from the children's zoo portion which had a huge aviary.

And here's my partners in crime for the day.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures...

All great shots. Girls look like they had fun. I especially like that bird right above the girls. He looks like a character.

Hi all,
Thanks for your comments, and yes, the bird in the last picture was a character. He kept following me around and posing. Here's a couple more shots of him. Highlights are a little bit blown out in the first one......

Hi Jim

Some cracking shots - esp the bird shots , lots of fine detail and sharpness. Just goes to show how good the lens on the FZ's are.

Cheers
