Did I mention I hate spiders....with that in mind I still think #1 is an excellent shot, but the #2 shot of the ladybug is awesome (I like ladybugs):G...angle, composition, color and sharpness are all great.

mark you have that delicate touch for sharp pictures.......and dude those spider eyes.....so frakkin' real .....im gonna have archnophobuic dreams tonight.........aghhhhh........well done .........pete
by the way you sent some exif data on some bird shots you took and i tried those settings .....pix turned out ok but not great/sharp/clear like yours did.....but thanks coz its a great strating point for a newbie like me.....i can now play around coz i have some base settings.

Thanks for the kind comments. The spider was only about 5mm long overall so wasn`t as intimidating as the pic suggests :-)
Re the bird shots.....one thing i`ve found with my FZ20 is that you really need good light to get lots of detail...even a pin sharp shot of smallish birds in duller conditions results in loss of detail...maybe as a result of sunlight reflecting off the feathers and highlighting the detail as opposed to light being absorbed by them in duller conditions?
